TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 holders can now apply for Standard 2 by demonstrating completion of Professional Development (PD) activities. The system of PD points outlined in the application form below allows Standard 1 holders to claim their professional experience and specific PD activities they have completed and apply for Standard 2 certification without completing a recognized training program.  This system of points may also allow an applicant to bridge from Standard 1 directly to Standard 3 with a completed graduate degree in a relevant area. For more information on the type of PD activities that qualify, please see the checklist on page 2.

Canada Professional Certification Directory

The Certification Directory is currently under construction. Once completed, it will list the names and Levels/Standards of ESL professionals certified by TESL Canada who have voluntarily opted to have their information included. The Certification Directory does not include all certified individuals.

TESL Canada Membership

Just a reminder that all ATEAL, TESL SK, TESL MB, TESL NB, TESL NS, and TEAL NL members are automatically TESL Canada members and that a portion of your provincial association membership fee ($16/member) also gives you a TESL Canada membership.
