Job Purpose:
To provide English as a Second Language instruction and curriculum development. This position includes course planning, delivery, management and evaluation; as well as active participation on curriculum and other relevant committees.
Key responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging, professional and effective classes which achieve stated outcomes.
2. Collaborate with the ESL Program Director and other faculty regarding academic matters.
3. Provide students with clear and relevant course outlines, weekly syllabi, activities and assignments in order to effectively prepare them for success in their academic areas of study and future careers.
4. Create, maintain and share well-developed, professional course materials and resources.
5. Demonstrate effective classroom management, and contribute to the professional image of the College.
6. Organize examinations by coordinating with SAS (Student Academic Services) department, and maintain the College professional standard for examinations.
7. Abide by the College policies and procedures.
8. Engage in ongoing professional development in order to stay current and contribute to the field.
Required Qualifications and Qualities:
1. M.A. or M.Ed. in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Education or closely related field.
2. At least 3 years of successful teaching experience of academic English language within a college or university setting.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to adapt effectively to a cross-cultural setting.
