Program Director, English (ESL)

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1.      Provide active, innovative leadership of the English Language Program, and ensure the growth and efficient operation of that department. 

2.      Collaborate with faculty to develop and deliver high quality, effective English language programming.  This includes maintaining an academic curriculum that enables students to be successful within their specific fields of study, and future careers.   

3.      Direct overall program operational growth and management, and contribute to the professional image of the School. 

4.      Supervise all placement, delivery and evaluation processes.  

5.      Provide engaged support to students as needed.   

6.      Organize and assist with School promotional and recruitment activities as needed.

  1. M.A. or M.Ed. in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Education or closely related field.

   2.  A willingness to relocate to Shanghai or Beijing for a 2-year term (renewable).

Job Purpose:

8.  Engage in ongoing professional development in order to stay current and contribute to the field. 

Required Qualifications and Qualities: 

1. M.A. or  M.Ed. in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Education or closely related field.   

 

2.  At least 3 years of successful teaching experience of academic English language within a college or university setting.  

 

5. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to adapt effectively to a cross-cultural setting.
