Volunteers ESL Teachers Needed for Teachers Teaching Teachers Bolivia Project
Plans are well underway for the 2013 Bolivia project - Teachers Teaching Teachers – in the Bolivian Amazon. School teachers in the small town of Rurrenabaque are very enthusiastic for classes where they will not only learn English but also learn how to teach English to their students. At the moment at least 100 teachers have signed up to be a part of the programme. We are looking for more volunteer ESL teachers to spend four weeks in this small jungle community. Teachers are required to have a degree, ESL training and some teaching experience.
To be a part of the project, teachers need to be willing to teach for 4 weeks during the months of August (5-30th), September (2-27th) or October (Sep 30-Oct 23rd). Teachers will need to make their own way down to La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, and return to Canada. They will be given some support for the flight from La Paz to Rurrenabaque and accommodation and food in Rurre. The curriculum and all materials are being prepared prior to the beginning of the project, so only little preparation will need to be done while teaching.

About the Youth Pre-Employment Training Program (YPET)
ETTI's YPET program helps unemployed junior high school graduates develop the skills and confidence they need to find jobs in Eastern Tibet’s growing tourism and hospitality industry. The live-in program offers participants free tuition, food and lodging.
Academic Calendar
Preference will be given to applicants who can commit to at least two semesters at ETTI.
· Spring 2013: Mid February 2013 – Mid June 2013

Job Description
ETTI is looking for an English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor for the YPET program.
· Teach ESL classes and monitor study halls (Approximately 15-17 hours a week)
· Research and update the YPET ESL curriculum
· Coordinate and finalize all English classes grades
Possible expansion of job duties is possible in the areas of
· Grant research, writing and editing
· Media and outreach
· Survey writing and program evaluations
Between semesters, the ESL Instructor can also work part-time at the NGO in the areas above.
Preferred Requirements
· Native English speaker
· Completed bachelor’s degree with two years’ work experience following graduation
· TEFL/TESOL certification
· Previous teaching experience (one year/two semesters preferred)
Compensation
A comfortable living stipend and accommodation will be provided.
